A leader in applying principles of building science to achieve high-performance building enclosures, Craig oversees all architectural and engineering work produced by the firm. Under his direction, project teams consistently deliver technically demanding rehabilitation solutions on time and within budget.

Craig’s longstanding relationships with clients across market sectors have contributed to the restoration and renewal of some of New York’s most important landmarks. For new construction, he is often called upon as an enclosure expert to provide design details that improve energy efficiency, integrity, and longevity. A recognized expert in building design, construction, and rehabilitation, he mentors junior team members in developing the skills and experience to identify and correct building distress, empowering Hoffmann’s emerging professionals on their path to leadership.

Outside the office, he has served as a mentor to high school students interested in the design and construction industry through the ACE Mentor Program, and he developed and supervised Hoffmann’s groundbreaking internship program for recipients of the Connecticut Architecture Foundation Hoffmann Scholarship. He puts his architecture degree from the New York Institute of Technology to work as he facilitates collaboration among Hoffmann’s three offices to address complex building envelope challenges.

Craig holds multiple advanced credentials for specialized expertise, including the Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) designation from the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Advanced Professional (LEED AP) credential from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). He also earned certification from the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) as a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) and has completed thermal modeling coursework from Passive House Institute US (PHIUS). Active in the industry, Craig is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Building Enclosure Council (BEC), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), and the New York Landmarks Conservancy.
