Hoffmann Promotes Robert Delagrange to Director of Business Development

New role oversees client relationships and business growth firm-wide

Hoffmann Architects + Engineers, a design firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, announces the promotion of Robert G. Delagrange, in recognition of his leadership, dedication, and initiative in developing new business and sustaining long-term client relationships.

Robert Delagrange earned a promotion to Director of Business Development, responsible for the vision and implementation of strategic growth across Hoffmann’s three locations. Previously Senior Business Development Manager for the Connecticut office, Delagrange had focused on Southern New England business opportunities, particularly in higher education and healthcare, qualifying leads and collaborating with technical and marketing staff to develop competitive proposals and submission packages. In his new role, Delagrange will apply this experience to expanding Hoffmann’s presence across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and beyond, working closely with the firm’s New York- and Virginia-based staff to cultivate the kind of close client rapports he has built in New England.

With a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UConn and an MBA from the University of New Haven, Delagrange joined Hoffmann ten years ago, in January 2016, as Business Development Manager for the Connecticut office. In 2021, he earned a promotion to Senior Business Development Manager, and, three years later, he was invited to become a shareholder and owner of the firm, in recognition of his vital contributions to Hoffmann’s market expansion and the firm’s reputation as a leading building enclosure specialty practice.

Well known across the Southern New England design and construction industry, particularly in Connecticut, Delagrange is actively involved in numerous AEC, property owner, and facility management organizations, and he steps up to assume leadership roles in many. At the Connecticut Building Congress, he currently serves as Programs Committee Co-Chair and will begin his term as Secretary of the organization this July. He regularly attends events and programs hosted by the Construction Institute, Professional Women in Construction (PWC), New England Healthcare Engineers Society (NEHES) and Connecticut Healthcare Engineers Society (CHES), as well as two Connecticut chapters of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and the Connecticut/Westchester chapter of CoreNet Global. In his free time, he serves on boards overseeing the preservation of local community landmarks, including two McKim, Mead & White-designed buildings: the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, where he is a Trustee and Chair of the Business Committee, and the Howard Whittemore Memorial Library, for which he serves as President of the Board of Directors. In addition, he is on the Board at the Grove Cemetery Association of Naugatuck. His commitment to service also extends to Hoffmann programming, where he is a regular at Habitat for Humanity build days.

Beyond these extensive industry and community commitments, Delagrange is also an accomplished musician, performing regularly with several popular local bands and community ensembles, and an avid homebrewer who enjoys sharing his craft beer with friends.

“In many ways, this promotion is less a recognition of a position he has earned than an acknowledgment of the role he has already created through his leadership, initiative, and impact,” observes Keenan. “It reflects both the value he brings to our organization today and the tremendous potential he will continue to realize in the years ahead.”
