Hoffmann Architects + Engineers, a design firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, was recognized for commitment to the advancement of emerging professionals with the 2026 Emerging Professional Friendly Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New England Components.

Comprised of AIA chapters from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, the New England AIA Components recognize firms that actively foster the professional development and personal growth of emerging professionals through policies, initiatives, and opportunities. Hoffmann was selected in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and now in 2026 – the fifth year in a row – as a recipient of the AIA New England Emerging Professional Friendly Firm designation for initiatives that promote the advancement of Emerging Professionals through professional development and personal growth opportunities.

The AIA defines “Emerging Professionals” as those “who have completed their academic studies up to the point of licensure or up to 10 years after completion of their academic studies.” (AIA Center for Emerging Professionals)

“Hoffmann Architects + Engineers has evaluated its policies from an emerging professional lens, recognizes emerging professionals, and values Emerging Professionals’ development to sustain the future growth of their practice,” remarked Gina Calabro, Hon. AIA CT, Executive Director and CEO of AIA Connecticut, on conferring the award. “Hoffmann Architects + Engineers has been chosen to receive this prestigious designation because it has displayed an outstanding commitment to developing its emerging professional staff.”

Hoffmann Architects + Engineers will be honored at the 2026 New England Architecture Awards ceremony on Friday, October 2, 2026, hosted by AIA Western Massachusetts at the Northampton Center for the Arts in Northampton, Mass. About Hoffmann Architects + Engineers

Founded in 1977, Hoffmann Architects + Engineers specializes in the rehabilitation of the building enclosure. The firm’s work focuses on the exteriors of existing structures, diagnosing and resolving deterioration within facades, roofing systems, windows, waterproofing materials, plazas/terraces, parking garages, and historic and landmark structures. We provide consulting services for new building construction, as well as litigation and claim support. Our technical professionals investigate and correct damage resulting from time and weather, substandard or improper construction, design defects, material failures, poor workmanship, structural movement, and stress.

The New England Chapters of the American Institute of Architects collaborate with each other to foster connection, share best practices, discuss issues relevant to New England architecture, and share mutual common interests and concerns.
