Erin L. Kesegi, AIA
Vice President
Director, Architecture
As co-director of Hoffmann’s Connecticut office, Erin provides the leadership and vision to evolve the firm’s practice in building enclosure rehabilitation. Known for her patient mentorship of junior staff, as well as her experience in detail-driven design and contract administration, she is as organized as she is inventive. Under Erin’s meticulous direction, project teams meet strict quality benchmarks for deliverables, with graphic standards and specifications undergoing comprehensive review for consistency, accuracy, and technical rigor.
One of Hoffmann’s owners since 2016, Erin took charge of redeveloping and modernizing the firm’s drafting standards, and she has been the driving force behind the uniform appearance and state-of-the-art technical details that define a set of Hoffmann documents. Not only does she oversee architecture staff, she also was responsible for the modern, clean design of the firm’s New York and New Haven offices, laying out the space, selecting furniture and finishes, coordinating with contractors and installers, and incorporating employee feedback into the final designs. During the pandemic, Erin developed and implemented company policies to protect the health and welfare of employees, clients, and consultants, promulgating an evolving set of exposure management strategies that kept the firm operational while incorporating best practices for public health. She continues to oversee staff site safety training and maintain up-to-date fall protection and safety equipment, as well as host the firm’s internal “Hoffmann University” technical training seminars. Through her capable leadership, the same attention to detail that goes into document preparation and construction observation also applies to staff safety, training, and well-being.
Some of Erin’s notable projects include curtain wall replacement on the continuously occupied, midcentury Modern patient towers at Stony Brook University Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center; masonry and roof assessments of 26 buildings, ranging from historic to contemporary, at Wellesley College; and curtain wall upgrades to modernize aesthetics and performance at the Park City Plaza urban office tower, 10 Middle Street in Bridgeport, Conn.
Erin began her career with Hoffmann as an intern while completing her architecture degree at Roger Williams University, then returned as a full-time employee after graduation. A passionate advocate for precision in architectural documents, she is a longtime member of the Housatonic Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), where she currently serves as President. She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). In addition, she has completed thermal modeling coursework with the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS).
