Hoffmann Architects Promotes Melissa Melone to Senior Project Representative

Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, is pleased to announce the promotion of a member of the New York technical staff.

Melissa R. Melone, Assoc. AIA has been promoted to Senior Project Representative in recognition of her contributions and increasing responsibilities.

Melissa Melone celebrated her first anniversary with Hoffmann Architects in February. Since joining the firm last year as Project Representative for the New York office, she has gained experience in investigation and construction administration for corporate, educational, healthcare, and residential projects. Her experience includes architectural drafting, submittal review and processing, report preparation, New York City Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) investigations and repairsfacade and roof replacement design, and contract administration. Some of her notable projects include facade inspection and repairs at multiple Columbia University buildings, including Philosophy, Pupin, and Uris Halls, the Irving Medical Center, and the Lasker Building, as well as a curtain wall replacement at 489 Fifth Avenue.

Beyond her project work, Melone serves as Safety Coordinator for the New York office. She is a member of the Hoffmann Architects Emerging Professionals Group and the Hoffmann Architects Technical Training Committee. She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Women in Architecture Committee. As a student, Melone participated in the ACE Mentor Program and earned a college scholarship, so she recently signed up to become an ACE Mentor. She looks forward to inspiring high school students to pursue a career in the architecture industry.

An honors scholar, Melone earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University in New York. During her undergraduate program, she studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and completed a satellite semester in New York City. Outside the office, she enjoys running and participates in a Monday night summer run series, where she races at different New York State Parks on Long Island. She has competed in many 5k and 10k races and completed her first half marathon last year. She is also an avid skier and enjoys cooking and baking.
