Detail-oriented and well-versed in all phases of the design process, Rebecca brings a background in building enclosure structural consulting and a passion for historic preservation to her work in restoration engineering. She has experience in various areas of structural engineering, including reviewing the condition of building envelopes, developing designs, and administrating construction. While completing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus from Purdue University, Rebecca was an undergraduate researcher studying cement and concrete production. She also earned a certificate in Historic Preservation Studies at the NYU School of Professional Studies. At Hoffmann, Rebecca is responsible for building envelope surveys, cost estimates, preparation and review of structural plans, and administration of construction contracts.

Skilled in organization, efficiency, and communication, Rebecca is a creative person and believes in the value of rehabilitation that focuses on sustainability and functionality while maintaining artistic form.

Rebecca’s commitment to preservation and service is evident in her volunteerism and community work. She is a member of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA), as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international nonprofit volunteer and charitable organization, and the Ballyshaners, an all-volunteer nonprofit in Alexandria that organizes major community events, including the city’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and summer festival, with a focus on community programming, public event coordination, and local engagement.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, as well as her dog, Delaware, and her cat, Sterling. She also spends time swimming and working on interior design projects.
