A commitment to the nearly lost art of innovative, precise architectural detailing guides John’s direction of the remedial and restoration projects undertaken by the firm. He received his architecture degree from the City College of New York and was elevated into the American Institute of Architects’ College of Fellows in 1992 for significant contribution to the field of architecture.

Russ is responsible for the attention to detail that characterizes Hoffmann Architects projects. He oversees the technical staff of all three offices to ensure that work is completed to rigorous standards. After receiving his architecture degree from the Ohio State University, Russ came right to work at Hoffmann Architects, where he has since honed a career’s worth of expertise in the technical demands of rehabilitation.

Craig manages the resources of the New York City office. Under his direction, project teams consistently deliver technically demanding rehabilitation solutions on time and within budget. Craig has over 20 years’ experience in building design, construction, and rehabilitation. He puts his architecture degree from the New York Institute of Technology to work as he and his staff address the complex building envelope challenges of a busy metropolitan area.

Director of the firm’s Washington DC area office, Richard has devoted over 20 years to managing projects with Hoffmann Architects. With experience ranging from green roofing design considerations to glass curtain wall replacement, he lends diverse expertise to exterior rehabilitation projects. Richard earned a master’s degree in architecture from State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo.

As manager of the Connecticut office, Art lends his extensive experience in architectural remediation to organizing technical resources efficiently, overseeing project completion, and mentoring junior staff members. He is a strong proponent of specifications in design and has been active in the Construction Specifications Institute for over 30 years. A Yale University alumnus and longtime New Haven resident, Art is committed to preserving and sustaining the architecture of his community.

Avi provides financial accountability for all of the firm’s projects. He oversees resource allocation and contract administration to maintain budget and scheduling objectives. Liaising between clients and the firm’s technical professionals, Avi applies his liberal arts degree from Brandeis University to multidimensional business management practice.

Both a licensed structural engineer and a registered architect, Larry brings grace and technical wherewithal to complex structural challenges. A civil engineering graduate of the University of Connecticut, he has been solving design problems in garages, facades, and plazas with Hoffmann Architects for over 10 years.

Juan is responsible for the diagnosis and resolution of building system distress. In his 10-plus years with the firm, he has been recognized for his expertise by both Spanish and English publications. Juan earned architecture degrees from Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru and from Pratt Institute in New York.

His technical ability goes beyond textbook calculation to draw from years of experience with diverse building materials and configurations.

Developing and maintaining client relationships is Maureen’s central responsibility. She oversees all sales and business development initiatives for the Connecticut office, and she manages contract negotiation for new and expanded projects. Maureen holds an MBA in Marketing Management and Information Systems from Pace University.

Rob establishes business connections and manages customized agreement development for the Washington DC area office. A graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park, he has devoted his career to creating long-standing client partnerships founded on mutual understanding.

From evaluating the needs of prospective clients to developing proposals and agreements, John directs business development activities in the New York region. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, he has the experience to translate building enclosure needs into deliverable services. John is a member of the boards of both DOCOMOMO US and the DOCOMOMO US New York/Tri-State chapter, where he chairs the Program Committee. He is Co-Chair of the AIA New York Chapter Historic Buildings Committee and serves on the North Atlantic Regional Council of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP).
